This logo was completed after much careful conversation and deliberation with Lars Brudvig, at Michigan State University, and his entire lab. The lab studies restoration ecology in a variety of ecosystems, including long leaf pine savanna and tall grass prairie. It was important to convey the message that restoration is an active puzzle, with gaps in knowledge and fragmentation on the ground, while also representing the places and species that are often central to their research.

Bloomin' Algae was developed by researchers at the Centre for Ecology and Hydrology in the UK. The little cyanobacteria (Anabaena circinalis) you see here is a problematic species in water bodies, contributing to algal blooms. Completed with Adobe Illustrator.

This Fun Run logo design combined a bit of a running theme with the recognizable elements of the logo of the Canada Creek Ranch (CCR) in northern Michigan. Completed in Adobe Illustrator.
